It is finally finished! As your Historian I prepare two documents each year for the historical record. One is a written report and the other is a PowerPoint slide show providing pictures of our many activities each year. The
2019 slide show is now available
on our NMGA website. The written report is scheduled to be presented to the Steering Committee at our September meeting.
The 2019 slide show is rather long – 326 slides! So, grab your favorite beverage and sit down for a trip down memory lane. For 2019 I have tried to capture as many of our projects and community outreach activities as possible. I would like to thank everyone for submitting pictures of their projects to be included in this pictorial historical record.
Since COVID-19 has seriously hampered our 2020 project activities and NMGA group gatherings, I would like to ask each of you to please take a few pictures of yourself and what you’ve been up to in your own garden. Don’t be shy. Be creative and have fun. If you can, please include a short caption to explain what’s in the picture if it might not be obvious to everyone. And, if you are getting together with fellow Master Gardeners, wearing masks and social distancing observed of course, please take some photos to capture those events too.
I realize there are some projects that are active, and more will be operating with restrictions. I hope each of the Project Leaders will send some pictures of their activities for the 2020 Historian report. It is a different world now, but we are still out there making a difference and helping our community in creative ways we would not ever have imagined a year ago. I continue to be inspired by all the different opportunities that we have discovered to continue our mission to educate the community. Let’s not miss an opportunity to record this as part of our history.
Please let me know your thoughts about the slide show. If something is missing that you would like to see, please share. Your feedback is appreciated.
In the meantime, make some popcorn and kick back for half an hour – it’s showtime!
